Job Description

About the Role

  • Permanent full-time position 38 hours per week
  • Position based in Cairns
  • Total Employment Package ranging from $89,420 - $91,715 dependent on skills and qualifications (Includes leave loading and super guarantee) 

 

We are seeking a proficient and skilled Property and Support Administration Officer to join our Project and Property Services team! Diocesan Project and Property Services (DPPS) is a department of the Dioceses of Cairns which oversees the acquisition, development, maintenance and disposal of all Diocesan property assets.

This position will provide project and administrative support to enable capital works and maintenance for a wide range of Diocesan stakeholders including Parishes, Education, Early Learning and Care and Community Services agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Project and Property Payment Authority Registers, including setup and archiving.
  • Process Property Payment Authorities, verify invoices, and liaise with Facilities Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Support and, when required, lead coordination of maintenance works.
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance.
  • Manage scheduled services (cleaning, fire protection, security systems, CCTV, PV systems).
  • Oversee CCTV and building access control for Cathedral Precinct, including access updates and footage retrieval.
  • Communicate maintenance and capital works impacts to staff.
  • Develop and maintain Diocesan Property Register and compliance documentation.
  • Manage project/property files and archiving.
  • Provide administrative support to Director and assist with projects as required.

About You

Key Requirements:

  • Proven project or property administrator experience in construction services or a property management organisation.
  • Strong understanding of building services, contract administration, and regulatory compliance (including WHS and environmental standards).
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word and Outlook with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Ability to navigate and use Microsoft Teams to review and process departmental accounts. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • A valid Positive Notice Blue Card and suitable Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.  
  • Current open unrestricted Driver’s Licence and ability to drive.
