Job Description

About the Role

Permanent opportunity available on either a full-time or part-time basis:

  • Full-time: 38 hours per week; or
  • Part-time over 5 days (reduced hours) will be considered for the right applicant
  • Position based in Cairns
  • Renumeration in line with the Clerks - Private Sector Award - commencing from Level 3 to Level 5 (dependent on skills and qualifications)

 

An opportunity exists for a skilled and motivated Administration Officer/Receptionist. The role provides administrative support and services for effective operations of the Diocese. This position will be responsible for reception/front of house, calendar bookings, MV fleet engagement, office & staff amenities, data entry, maintaining registers and ad-hoc project support when required. This position will be required to work to a professional standard, in keeping with the dignity and purpose of the faith community.

The successful applicant will demonstrate previous experience in a similar administrative/reception role, with expertise in office management systems and processes. You must have exceptional communication skills and thrive in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications particularly Office, Teams and SharePoint, and data management systems is essential.

  • Proven experience in a similar administrative role, with expertise in office management systems and processes
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels
  • Creativity in transforming requirements into innovative and effective solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Microsoft Office, Teams and SharePoint, and data management systems
  • Ability to work autonomously, with strong written communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • As a genuine occupational requirement, the position requires that the Employee's conduct and lifestyle align with principles of Catholic Social Teaching
  • Current open unrestricted Driver Licence and ability to drive
  • A valid Positive Notice Blue Card - No Card, No Start laws apply
  • Suitable Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively, demonstrate adaptability and flexibility, and meet deadlines
