The Catholic Diocese of Cairns is seeking a passionate and skilled Administration Officer to provide administrative support for the Diocesan Outreach & Mission Services (DOMS) team.
Reporting to the Director - DOMS and collaborating closely with the Pastoral Ministry Engagement Officer, the Administration Officer will provide high-level administrative support within the DOMS team, ensuring the smooth operation of mission-focused activities. Amongst other duties the incumbent will support office operations, maintaining registers and data systems, support the planning and execution of diocesan events and undertake general office responsibilities.
The ability to maintain the strictest of privacy and confidentiality is essential. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is vital to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality administrative support to the Director, DOMS, and the Pastoral Ministry Engagement Officer, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence, presentations, and other confidential documents.
- Maintain data systems and registers ensuring compliance with relevant procedures.
- Assist in preparing reports and meeting agendas, ensuring all relevant materials are accurate and complete.
- Support the planning and execution of diocesan events, providing organisational and logistical assistance as needed.

- Ability to work autonomously, with strong written communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and creating presentations.
- Knowledge of Catholic faith practices and principles, with a demonstrated commitment to Catholic Social Teaching.
- A valid, unrestricted Queensland driver’s license.
- A valid Positive Notice Blue Card (No Card, No Start legislation applies).
- Suitable Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
